I don't understand this light these
burns which finding them go all the way
back to what
not single event
though I can't be sure
I can't remember
what I ran into during the night
what would explain these scars
thick in this morning's wind
this fire must have happened a long time
before I was born
or what was it
a fire?
what could have done this to me
I can't account for the way it seems to keep
growing in the light
